Gua Sha
Gua Sha is a traditional healing technique used to promote circulation, relieve muscle tension, and encourage the body’s natural detoxification process.
This therapy involves gently scraping the skin with a smooth-edged tool, often made of jade or horn, to stimulate blood flow and release areas of stagnation in the body.
During a Gua Sha session, I will apply oil to the skin and use the tool to make gentle, repeated strokes over specific areas, such as your back, neck, or shoulders.
The pressure is firm but not uncomfortable, and the goal is to move stuck energy and promote fresh circulation. After the treatment, you may notice temporary redness or light bruising, which is a normal response and usually fades within a few days. These marks indicate that blood stagnation has been released, and the body is beginning to heal.
Gua Sha is particularly effective for relieving muscle pain, tension, and stiffness. It can also help with headaches, neck pain, and even conditions related to respiratory issues, such as colds or coughs.
Many clients find that Gua Sha provides a deep sense of physical relief, especially for areas that feel tight or overworked.
While the technique may seem intense, it’s a very safe and natural way to promote healing. I will always adjust the pressure and intensity based on your comfort level, ensuring a relaxing and beneficial experience.
The effects of Gua Sha are often immediate, with many people feeling a release of tension and a sense of lightness following the treatment.
Whether you’re dealing with chronic pain, tension, or simply looking for a way to enhance your body’s recovery process, Gua Sha offers a powerful method for encouraging circulation and promoting overall wellness.
